UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, directly monitored the implementation of the Computer Based Writing Exam (UTBK) at UNS on Tuesday (17/5/2022). Along with an entourage consisting of the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, the Head of New Student Admission Selection UPT (SPMB) UNS, Prof. Hadiwiyono, Prof. Jamal visited the UTBK test site in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) UPT Building, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), and Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS.

UNS is determined by the Higher Education Entrance Test Institution (LTMPT) as one of the 74 PTN UTBK Centers in Indonesia to host the Computer-Based Writing Exams. The 2022 UTBK at UNS was held at 14 sites consisting of 49 rooms with a total capacity of 980 participants per session (an increase of 18% compared to 2021 at 830 capacity per session) or 1,960 participants per day (2 sessions per day). There are 27 UTBK sessions hosted at UNS in total, consisting of 14 sessions in the First Phase and 13 sessions in the Second Phase.

The number of UTBK participants who took the test in UNS increased by 18% (4,023 people) from 22,385 in 2021 to 26,408 in 2022, consisting of 12,530 (47.45%) participants for the Science and Technology group, 12,899 (48.85%) participants for the Law and Humanities group, and 979 (3.71%) participants for mixed groups. In total, 13,682 participants took the test in the First Phase, and 12,726 participants took the test in Second Phase.

The Computer-Based Writing Exam at the UNS UTBK Center is carried out in two phases, where the First Phase commences on May 17 – 23, 2022, and the Second Phase commences on May 28 – June 3, 2022. At the First Phase of UTBK on May 17-23, 2022, there were a total of 13,682 test-takers. “On the first day of UTBK implementation, the number of participants present at Session 1 was 926 participants (94.5%), while 54 participants were absent (5.5%),” explained Prof. Jamal in the UTBK UNS Implementation Press Meeting in Conference Room 2 of the Dr. Prakosa, Tuesday (17/5/2022).

In UTBK UNS 2022, there are two participants with special needs who took the exam in session 05 (Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 06: 45-10:30 WIB) at the ICT-Computer Lab-1. The participants with special needs will be facilitated with special software, and the implementation will be assisted by an assisting staff.

The UNS UTBK Center implements strict health protocols for participants attending UTBK. All participants must be in good health and show normal temperature upon arrival at the test site, applying the 3M provision (Wearing a mask, washing their hands, maintaining physical distance, and avoiding crowd), and participants are asked to show their ‘Peduli Lindungi’ application account. The entire test site is also equipped with a thermo-gun, hand sanitizer, and handwash sink. The UTBK room layout is arranged in such a way as to maintain a safe distance between participants, with at least 1.5 meters of space at right-left and front-back of the participant’s desk, allowing only 50% of the room’s full capacity to be used.
