UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted a tower topping-off ceremony for the Tower 11 UNS construction project on Thursday (16/9/2021). This ceremony signifies that the construction project has entered the final stage. The Topping off ceremony is led directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, on the 11th floor of the UNS Tower.
Attending the ceremony are the Rector of UNS, Prof.Jamal Wiwoho, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Vice-Rector for Management and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, Head of Tower UNS Construction Project, Dr. Muchtar, and the Head of contractors team.
Reporting on the construction process development, Dr. Muchtar states that the completion target for the Tower is set on 10 December this year. “Structurally, the construction process is completed today. Hopefully, all stages will be completed according to the initial target, set on 222 working days, precisely end on 10 December. The total area in the Tower, starting from the bottom floor to the top, is 12 thousand square meters,” he explains.
Tower 11 UNS stands on an area of 5,000 square meters with a total height of 76 meters. Aside from serving for official activities, the Tower is equipped with sports facilities, a swimming pool, international conference, international office, the central business and office rooms that can be rented out to support revenue-generating activities. “Hopefully, after this ceremony, all construction processes will go smoothly, ” Dr. Muchtar wishes.
Meanwhile, Prof. Jamal appreciates all parties involved in the construction of Tower 11 UNS. “Alhamdulillah, the construction went well, and today we will start the casting for the last floor or 11th floor. Keep the communication flow among the planning consultants, construction consultants, and contractors to get beneficial suggestions and evaluations on this ongoing project,” Prof. Jamal states.
Prof. Jamal also mentioned that his party continuously monitored the Tower 11 construction progress.
“We will maintain the monitoring and supervision for the quality, not only the quantity, to achieve the expected outcome,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
