UNS — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a student graduation for Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Study Program (Prodi) Class of 2022, Tuesday (1/3/2023). The event was held offline in the Hall of FKIP UNS Building F and online through the Zoom Cloud Meeting. This event was also broadcasted live via the Semar TV Youtube account.
The Head of PPG Study Program FKIP UNS, Dr. A.G. Tamrin, M.Pd., M.Sc., in his report stated that FKIP UNS graduated 759 In-Service PPG students in category I scheme positions, 1,060 students category II scheme, and 84 students from Ex PLPG.
The graduation and the Teacher’s Professional Oathtaking became the momentum for the de jure validation of new teachers. This was proved by the awarding of educator certificates for PPG UNS students. The percentage of In-Service PPG student’s graduation in UNS is also in the top 5 nationally.
“We need to deliver that the percentage of In-Service PPG UNS graduates ranks in the top 5 on a national scale. In-Service PPG Category I presentation is 83%, Category II presentation is 90%, and Ex PLPG is 28%. This is a proud achievement for UNS,” Dr. Tamrin said.
The activity continued with the reading of the Rector’s Decree (SK) regarding Determination of Graduation of In-Service PPG Students Batch 2022 and the oathtaking of teaching profession by the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana, M.Sc. UNS PPG Students were then inaugurated and released by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, M.S.
In his remarks, Prof. Yunus congratulated and succeeded the graduates of In-Service PPG Students Batch 2022. Representing the UNS Leaders, he hoped that these new teachers could follow and implement the information and technology transformation era in learning.
“Herewith this graduation, you legally have a certificate as an educator with competence as a professional teacher and in accordance with the educational standards set by the government. Entering the era of information and technology transformation, we hope that teachers can follow its developments and implement them in learning,” Prof. Yunus said.
The PPG Director of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Temu Ismail, S.Pd., M.Sc., also attended and gave a scientific oration. He said that UNS was very helpful in completing the improvement of teacher competence.
“Universitas Sebelas Maret has been very helpful in completing the improvement of teacher competence through teacher certification with various models, through direct portfolio giving, PLPG, and now it is teacher professional education,” Temu Ismail said in his oration.
