UNS — In commemoration of its 48th Dies Natalis, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, together with UNS Hospital and Bank Jateng, organized community service activities. The event took place at the Car Free Day (CFD) on Slamet Riyadi Street in Solo, precisely in front of the Bank Jateng Surakarta Branch Office on Sunday (3/3/2024).
The Chairman of the Event Committee, Dr. Tonang Dwi Ardyanto, Sp.PK(K), Ph.D. FISQua, stated that various activities were held during the event. Among them were healthy heart exercises, the UNS Expo, and health talk shows. The UNS Expo was enlivened with several booths representing all the clinics available at UNS Hospital. During the event, all members of the public could participate in free health consultations with specialist doctors and receive influenza vaccinations.
“Furthermore, the health talk show was held in the Slamet Riyadi Street area in front of the Bank Jateng Solo Office. This allowed people at the CFD to join and listen. The talk show, themed ‘My Healthy Heart, My Healthy Kidneys,’ featured two speakers, namely Dr. Habibie Arifianto, dr., Sp.JP(K)., M.Kes., FIHA, and Dr. Wachid Putranto, dr., Sp.PD-KGH, FINASIM,” Dr. Tonang explained.
The Acting Rector of UNS, Dr. Chatarina Muliana, S.H., S.E., M.H., who was present at the event, stated that UNS’s presence at Solo’s CFD that day was to provide services to the community, especially in terms of health. It was mentioned that the event was organized through cooperation with UNS Hospital and facilitated by Bank Jateng.
“We are here to provide full services to the community. However, UNS is part of the community. This is also part of the implementation of the University Tri Dharma, which is community service based on our education and research results,” Dr. Chatarina explained.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of UNS’s 48th Dies Natalis, Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., stated that the commemoration of UNS’s 48th Dies Natalis had begun on February 28, 2024. There were several competitions held, including traditional costume contests and collective sports activities such as a healthy walk around the main campus in Kentingan.
“At CFD, there are community service activities. It is hoped that this activity can be experienced by the community. I see that all the clinic booths available are full,” Harjana said.
Furthermore, the celebration of UNS’s 48th Dies Natalis will be concluded with a puppetry performance scheduled for May at the UNS Kentingan Campus. Humas UNS
