UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Artist Singers, Songwriters and Musicians of the Republic of Indonesia (PAPPRI) held a National Day Festival with the theme “Musik Menjangkau Jiwa“ (Music Reaching the Soul). The festival agenda began with a talk show discussing national dialogue. The talk show was held offline at the Auditorium G.P.H. Haryo Mataram UNS and broadcast live online via Universitas Sebelas Maret YouTube on Sunday (21/5/2023).
The talk show presented various well-known speakers, including Once Mekel, Sujiwo Tedjo, Raissa Anggiani, and Alffy Rev. The speakers discussed the importance of the spirit of nationalism for the younger generation and the relationship between culture and the nationalist spirit. The talk show was moderated by Al Zastrow.
On this occasion, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. expressed his gratitude to all colleagues who had the opportunity to attend UNS to take part in the National Day Festival. By participating in this activity, we are helping to inflame and instill a national spirit as well as a spirit of nationalism for the Indonesian state.
“Through today’s event, we should be proud and happy that UNS can participate in building nationalism through organizing this National Day Festival in collaboration with PAPPRI. Thank you for your trust. And I hope that roadshows from activities like this can be carried out not only at UNS, but also on universities outside UNS,” Prof. Jamal said.
Prof. Jamal added, talking about national revival essentially comes from the campus. Moreover, the city of Solo is also the epicenter of the national awakening. “I think what UNS initiated with PAPPRI is a rare moment, at least in the campus area. Through this activity, musicians and singers will mingle with each other to evoke a sense of national awakening itself. In particular, to awaken the national spirit through culture and art,” Prof. Jamal continued.
Raisa Anggiani as one of the musicians who was also present as a guest speaker said that as the younger generation we must participate in making an impact according to the field in which we are involved.
“For example, for myself, I have an impact by working through music and it is hoped that this music will also benefit Indonesian musicians,” Raisa Anggiani said. Humas UNS
