UNS — Students from Statistics Program Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won 3rd place in the Wonderful Village Video’s Contest 2021 held by the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW). These excellent students are Ahmad Zamahsyar Wirakusuma and Monica Ramadhania An-Nur, supervised by Drs. Isnandar Slamet, M.Sc.,Ph.D.
Wonderful Village Video’s Contest 2021 is a series of Festival Online Desa Wisata 2021 events held by Event Management course FEB UKSW. The event targets content creators in Indonesia to introduce and promote tourism destinations to the public, especially in Central Java Province.
Ahmad and Monica video’s ‘Mengengok Fajar Tirtomarto’ (Looking at Tirtomarto Dawn) was prepared to document the natural charm of Delingan Village, Karanganyar, Central Java. To uns.ac.id team, Ahmad explained that Delingan Rural Tourism has a captivating sunrise, which he and Monica thinks is a valuable potential that can be developed further.
“We choose Delingan Village because this village’s natural beauty has not been well shared. Even though this village has tourism potential with its sunrise,” Ahmad said.
As a solid team, Ahmad and Monica were fully involved in the video production. Ahmad has the responsibility of capturing footage and editor, while Monica acted as actress and dubber for the video. Their hard works paid off, and Ahmad said that he is delighted when they were announced as 3rd winner over other more experienced competitors. He also reminded creators not to give up easily in their works.
“Continue to work even when your current work is not satisfying for you, but one day, your creation will make you proud because the accomplishment you achieved through a long process will leave better memories,” he concluded. Humas UNS
