The Team chose to share their experience because it met the podcast competition theme, “To Stay Productive amid the Pandemic”. The Team shared their experience in a podcast titled Planet Podcast, and their story was shared under the “Handling Your Free Time Amid the Pandemic” topic. In the grand closing ceremony on 14 September 2021, the Team was announced as 1st winner. “Through this podcast, we also shared tips to manage time for university students to stay productive and creative amid the pandemic,” Pungky explained to uns.ac.id on Friday (24/9/2021).

Pungky also explained that the Team participated in the competition because they wanted to participate in a fun and interesting competition. Pungky and Yeremia are old friends who found the information about Sociology Expo 2021 podcast competition held by Student Association in Sociology Program FISIP Universitas Riau through an Instagram account and tried to participate in the competition. She also stated that the process entails challenges and happiness, but happiness dominating their struggle. “After agreeing on the competition, we prepared a timeline to avoid missing the deadline and read and obey all regulations in the handbook to avoid score deduction during the competition,” she said.

Student batch 2019 also said that the Team prepared the podcast material and decided the name for their podcast: Planet Podcast, to create special characteristics and attract listeners. After preparing the concept and materials for the concept, the Team entered the training period, which they conducted through an online meeting platform due to the restriction on community activities (PPKM). The training aims to improve their chemistry during the podcast and to train their way of talking.
