UNS — Enlivening the 46th Anniversary of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Gladhi Beksan Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS presents a dance performance entitled ‘Gambyong 46’ Dance on Thursday (26/5/2022) in the FK UNS Medicine Education Building. The Chair of Gladhi Beksan FK UNS, dr. Maryani, M.Sc. Sp.MK., explained that the title ‘Gambyong Dance 46’ was taken in order to ‘mangayuh bagyo’ or enliven the 46th UNS Anniversary featuring 46 dancers and supported by Bank BNI 46.
A total of 46 dancers who participated in the ‘Gambyong Ayun-Ayun’ Dance were not only consisted of Gladhi Beksan FK UNS members. There is also the Chair of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNS, Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, the Chair of the DWP FK UNS, Nining Himawati Revinono, and other UNS academics participating in the performance. “Members of Gladhi Beksan FK UNS today consist not only from the FK UNS academics, but there are also other UNS academics members, such as from DWP UNS, the UNS academic members at the UNS headquarters, the UNS Library, and from other faculties within UNS. Students who also participate in this event allow us to forget the status between lecturers and students because here we are equally displaying art,” explained Dr. Maryani.
Additionally, Dr. Maryani also conveyed the meaning of the Gambyong Ayun-Ayun Dance presented on this occasion. “Ayun-ayun itself describes an adult’s joy, the dance is gentle, smooth, and agile. It also describes a Javanese woman who is smooth and agile,” he said. Humas UNS
