UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta established an international partnership with the University of Newcastle, Australia. This partnership was marked with a signatory ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Conference Room 2 of dr. Prakosa UNS, Thursday (11/8/2022).
This partnership agreement was signed by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, accompanied by UNS Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Global Partnerships of the University of Newcastle Australia, Prof. Caroline Chan accompanied by Mr. Bret Sutcliffe, Transnational Education Manager, Global Engagement and Partnerships.
The signing was also attended by the Vice-Rector of Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, and the Vice-Rector of General and Human Resources Affairs, Prof. Bandi, as well as the Vice-Deans from faculties at UNS.

This partnership will last for three years until 31 December 2025. The partnership will cover lecturer exchange, research project development, student exchange, short-course, credit transfer recognition, and double-degree programs.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal expressed appreciation for the official partnership carried out by the two institutions. “Thank you for choosing UNS as a partner university. Hopefully, this cooperation can benefit all of us,” said Prof. Jamal.
Meanwhile, Prof. Caroline Chan also appreciated UNS initiatives to improve the quality of education measured through international ratings.
“Today is the first step for all of us. Hopefully, this cooperation can be useful, both for the institution and for students, and can be implemented sustainably,” said Prof. Caroline. Humas UNS
