UNS — The Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted a National Seminar on Biology Education (Sembio). This event aims to explore the topic of Learning, Research, and Community Service Innovation and Adaptation in Biology and Biology Education During the Pandemic era. This National Seminar is an annual seminar.
The 17th Sembio will take place online on Saturday-Sunday, 9-10 October 2021 through Zoom Cloud Meeting. The Head of Biology Education Study Program, Dr. Muzazzinah, said that the objective of this Seminar is to serve as a room for scientific exchange and an arena for communication and ideas dissemination.
“The main objective is the wish to contribute to the advancement and development biology, science, environment, and learning at various levels of education and its application in community service,” said Dr. Muzazzinah.
On the first day, Saturday (9/10/2021), there were three invited speakers discussing the topic of education and research, namely Dr. Slamet Santosa (Microbiology UNS), Adhi Nurcholis, M.Sc. (PT Adiguna Jaya Laboratory), and Alfan Pujo Laksono, M.Ds. (SEAMEO Regional Open Learning Center (SEAMOLEC) Virtual Learning Expert Design & Digital Media Specialist for Research in Education).
Meanwhile, on the second day, Sunday (10/10/2021), five speakers were invited to review the topic of community preservation. They are Dr. Yudi Rinanto (Coordinator for Preparation and Debriefing for LPPM UNS KKN), Dr. Sofyan Sjaf (Deputy Head of LPPM for Community Service IPB), Revata Utama (Co-Founder of CTO Nusantics), Enggar Galih Surya (UNS), and Haris Hendrik (Founder of Education Lens, Mawapres 3 UGM 2020). This Seminar was attended by 359 participants and 44 presenters from various universities in Indonesia, with 11 sub-topics presented by presenter participants.
“This Sembio, which also serves as a reunion event, can also be a medium for exchanging scientific information, networking space between researchers and experts in biology and biology education sector. Hopefully, this Seminar can be beneficial to the development of science and contribute to the advancement of Biology research and education, “said Dr. Muzazzinah. Humas UNS
