Choosing “The Role of Biodiversity to Support Indonesia as a World Food Barrow” as the topic of the seminar became a real step of Indonesia to create the food welfare. It is considered that Indonesia is also known as a paradise of biodiversity. Darsono said that Indonesia is very capable to be a world food barn by considering Indonesia’s wealth especially in its biodiversity.
“Considering the wealth that we have, there will be no shortage of rice, there will be no food scarcity and we can become a world food barn if we are grateful for it,” Darsono explained.
“If Indonesia wants to exist like nowadays, the food supply of our country need to remain stable and the reduction must not happen. Without food supply, we cannot be a great country,” Nyoman added.

Being a world food barn in 2045 becomes a big dream for Indonesia. At a post-event press conference, Agung had the opportunity to provide a deep understanding of rice imports by the government.
“The news about rice import is correct, we import rice to replenish the government’s rice reserves, because if the government does not have reserves, then the government cannot control the price,” Agung explained.
“However, in 2018, I am sure our rice reserves will grow to 1.2 million tons. We have a target harvest of 42 million tons of rice, so hopefully we do not need to import rice anymore,” Agung added. humas-red.uns.ac.id/Tni/Dty
