UNS — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta hosted the “Quantitative Analysis Tools – IBM SPSS Training: Understand Business Research and Data Analysis” on Friday (17/9/2021). The training was held virtually through Zoom Cloud Meetings and FEB UNS YouTube Live Streaming, while attended by limited participants on-site at FEB UNS 4th Building.
Dozens of undergraduate, master, and doctoral students from FEB UNS attended the training. Additionally, the training material available through the FEB UNS YouTube channel has been viewed more than 137 times. Opening the training, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, as the Dean of FEB UNS, states that the training is beneficial to support students’ final projects, either thesis and dissertation.
“It is important for us to understand this quantitative analysis because we need to prove the theory using quantitative analysis tools. We must understand and is capable of doing the analysis (for this matter using SPSS),” he said in his remark.
Prof. Djoko hopes that the participants can understand the material easily, discuss it, and presenting the material delivered by the speakers, and finally apply the knowledge. “Not only for the final assignment but also for other assignments,” he added.
The training was led by Siti Arifah, SE.Akt., M.Si. CA., a member of Indonesia Accountant Association (IAI) and doctoral student in UNS, as the moderator. Inviting two speakers, Dr. Agus Tri Basuki, SE., M.Si. CA., lecturer from the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), and Prof. Ima Ghozali, Ph.D., from the Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), the training discuss “Regression Analysis in Research,” and “Understanding Business Research and Data Analysis” respectively.
