UNS — The Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held the first Arts and Cultural Performance in front of the FIB UNS building on Friday (11/2/2022). The performance was attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, and entourage, after finishing their morning stroll around the UNS campus.
In his opening remark, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, shared the purpose of the performance; to preserve the national culture. “We will try to preserve (the national culture) through the arts and cultural performance, and we hope that on the 11th day of the month, there is a performance from representative of faculties/schools,” Prof. Jamal stated.
Prof. Jamal also hoped that the Arts and Cultural Performance held in FIB UNS could inspire other faculties.
On the same occasion, the Dean of FIB UNS, Prof. Dr. Warto, M.Hum., stated in his opening remark that this event could become a medium to express and learn to comprehend multiculturalism. “This is a great idea for us, who could not find many media to express (ourselves),” Prof. Warto stated.
This Arts and Cultural Performance consisted of poetry recitation by the academic members in FIB in their respective program’s languages, Arabic, Indonesia, Local Languages, Mandarin, Historical Study, and English. Humas UNS
