UNS — The Leader of Majelis Ilmu dan Dzikir Ar-Raudhoh Habib Novel Alaydrus delivered a religious speech on the blessing of life in commemorating the 25th Anniversary of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on Friday (15/10/2021).
In the event held in the FMIPA mosque, Habib Novel Alaydrus mentioned Allah’s blessing for the Islamic community. He mentioned that as a Muslim, people should ask for a blessed life to Allah SWT. He gave an example of Noah’s Ark when Noah wished for a blessed place as his ark’s berth. He did not ask for a good berth, a wide berth, or a beautiful berth. Habib Novel Alaydrus added that Noah’s wish is also reflected in “Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh”, which means may salvation be upon you and also be bestowed upon you, mercy from Allah and blessings.
He also reminded that people should not cut the greeting to assalamualaikum because Islam is not just a salvation for people and to be bestowed on people. When greeting each other, Muslims should pray to that other received peace and mercy from Allah, but also His blessings. The other person should reply with “Wa ‘alaikumus salam wa rahmatullahi wabarakatuh” which means may the safety, grace of Allah, and His blessings be upon you too.
“May you get the salvation of grace from Allah and blessings, blessings, blessings, blessings, and blessings,” Habib Novel Alaydrus stated.
During the Habib Novel Alaydrus speech, he was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Dean FMIPA UNS Harjana, Ph.D, a representative from Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) Surakarta, and FMIPA UNS academic members. In his opening remark, Prof. Yunus shared his gratitude to Habib Novel Alaydrus, who have attended the event and delivered a speech. Habib Novel Alaydrus’ visit to FMIPA UNS mosque could strengthen the belief and commitment of FMIPA UNS academic members in making zakat.
“Currently, we have Nazhir Wakaf from faculty members, academic staff, and people who want to strengthen or increase their cash wakaf every month,” Prof. Ahmad Yunus stated.
Prof. Yunus also shared that each month Nazhir Wakaf FMIPA UNS collected around IDR 100 million that was distributed to people in need, especially students from financially disadvantaged families. Humas UNS
