UNS — Student Association in Sociology (Himasos) and the Sociology Program of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an entrepreneurship workshop. The webinar was held online through the Zoom Clouds Meeting platform on Sunday (5/12/2021). The theme of this webinar was The Rise of Young Entrepreneurs: Survive in Pandemic Era.
Himasos invited Triana Rahmawati, the owner of Givo Souvenir and the Founder of Youth Project & Humie Essential Oil; Lenang Manggala, the Founder of Nyalanesia; and Gilang Amy Sambada, the Owner, Content Creator, Graphic Designer of Eleven Attire. The event was opened with a remark from the Chief of Himasos, Yoga Catur Kautsar, and the Head of Sociology Program, Dr. Argyo Demartoto.
Triana Rahmawati stated that entrepreneurship is a learning process. To be an entrepreneur, she said, someone needs to focus on continuous learning. In the same event, Gilang shared tips to be an entrepreneur with the participants.
“Starting could be from small things. During my university days, I saw an opportunity and was to build the UNS brand through fashion. The business is also inspired by the name of Universitas Sebelas Maret, Eleven, which means Sebelas,” he explained.
The third speaker, Lenang Manggala, shared a description of good marketing methods, segmentation techniques, and variables that should be considered in market segmentation to ensure that the marketing process goes smoothly.
This workshop is expected to be more confident in starting their business. The challenges and failures they faced should become a lesson to grow further. Humas UNS
