UNS — The student association of Management Program (HMJM) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held the “Youngpreneur Talk: How to Get Creative Ideas to Start a Business in Pandemic Era” on Saturday (24/7/2021). The event has “Build Personality and Knowledge in Entrepreneurship” as the theme and was held through the Zoom Cloud Meeting.

Youngpreneur Talk invited young entrepreneur, Raka Ghani Irsyadi Binar, the owner of Berdikari Koffee as speaker. HMJM UNS General Manager, Widihanantoro Adi. S., in his opening speech, explained that this event targeted the Millennials and Generation Z to improve their entrepreneurial skills. “This event is an innovation from HMJM UNS that has a target to improve entrepreneurial skills from generation z and millennials,” he mentioned.

This statement is supported by the Head of Management Program FEB UNS, Dr. Atmadji, M.M., in his remark that the community experienced three illnesses during the pandemic, physical illness, psychological illness, and economic illness. Through the event, Dr. Atmadji, M.M., hoped that creative ideas could appear to solve these ‘illnesses’. “With the creative ideas (we hope) that our physical condition could be fit, our mental health to be stronger, and our economy to recover,” he stated.

HMJM FEB UNS Held Youngpreneur Talk, Improving Entrepreneurial Knowledge

Raka shared seven key points in entrepreneurship. These points are creativity, passion, network, goal mindset, risk-taking, money management, and adaptability. Raka also explains that the root of entrepreneurship is creativity. The entrepreneur and student of Business Administration Program Universitas Pembangunan Nasional (UPN) “Veteran” Yogyakarta emphasized the vital combination between creativity and adaptation needed during the pandemic. The use of a unique slogan and delivery promotion are two appropriate strategies, according to Raka.

“If you don’t dare to take a risk, there will be no innovation. Your creativity will stop as an idea,” Raka stated.

In building skills in entrepreneurship, Raka shared several tips. These tips are quoting from several large firms, such as “Think different” from Apple Inc., “Mulai aja dulu” (just start first) from Tokopedia, “Just do it” from Nike, and “Challenge everything” from Electronic Arts.

“With precise calculation, your knowledge, and your mentor, you will be successful. At least, if you are not successful in the business, you will be successful in getting the knowledge how not to fail again,” Raka explained. Humas UNS
