UNS — The Student Association (HMP) of Biology Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an event of Biochamp 2020. This event aims to strengthen the brotherhood among all classes in the Biology Education Program FKIP UNS. HMP Biology Education or Biosfer formulate the event in the form of a competition that lasted from 19 December 2020 to 3 January 2021.
The chief of the committee, Samuel Prakoso revealed that this Biochamp uses the theme of Be Creative, Stay Productive. “Even amid the pandemic, the silaturahmi between classes should be maintained. Thus, this event aims to strengthen the brotherhood among the classes through various non-academic competitions. Usually, Biochamp is conducted in sports and art competition, but due to the pandemic, we conducted Biochamp in the virtual competition this year,” he explained.
HMP Biosfer opened five online competitions that can be joined by students from all classes. The competitions are the TikTok video competition, song cover, creative video competition, AmongUs tournament, and art performance. Each competition has a different sub-theme. In the creative video competition, the theme is Take Action During Pandemic.
“Each competition has different requirements. For example, in the song cover competition, the participant should sing one national song and one free theme song. In the creative video competition, participants should make a video about their beneficial activities during the pandemic. In the TikTok video, participants were required to create a video that shows the campus outfit of Biology Education Program students,” Samuel explained.
These competitions become a means for Biology Education Program students to strengthen their brotherhood and hone their skills. The winners of all competitors and the rewarding prize ceremony were held on the last day. Attending the ceremony is the Head of Biology Education Program, Dr. Muzazzinah, and the Supervisor of HMP Biosfer, Nurmiyanti, M.Si.
“I am very proud and moved by Biology Education Program student’s creativity in this Biochamp,” Muzzazinah said.
As the chief of the organizing committee, Samuel hopes that after the pandemic over, Biochamp can be held offline again. Humas UNS
