UNS – The Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, in collaboration with the Japan Study Center (PSJ) at the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) UNS, organized an international guest lecture. The event was held in a hybrid format in the Main Seminar Room of the Ir. RPM. Kasifudin Building at FT UNS and broadcasted via Zoom Meeting.
The guest lecture commenced with opening remarks by the Acting Vice Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs at FT UNS, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. In his remarks, Prof. Dody welcomed the guests and students who joined the lecture. He also extended his gratitude to the speaker for sharing his expertise in the lecture held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

Following the welcoming remarks, the lecture was delivered by Prof. Satoshi Muraki, Ph.D., from Kyushu University, Japan. The session was moderated by Dr. Eng. Ilham Priadyathama, S.T., M.T., a lecturer from the Industrial Engineering Program.
The topic covered was “Experiment Design for Human Science,” which included several key points such as the usefulness of experiments in design and engineering, how to identify new problems or generate new ideas, dependent and independent variables, exercise, order effects, assignment of conditions to participants, choosing dependent variables (measurement), and quality of sleep.
“This guest lecture is expected to have a positive impact on the students and broaden their understanding of the topics discussed,” Prof. Dody explained.
