UNS — The Faculty of Sports (FKOR) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a general lecture on Friday (4/3/2022) on ‘FKOR UNS Students Ready to Support and Participate in Succeeding the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) and ASEAN Para Games 2022’. FKOR UNS invited the Assistant Deputy of Sports Achievements of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora), Dr. Surono as a speaker.
The general lecture was attended by FKOR UNS students and the Dean of FKOR UNS, Dr. Sapta Kunta, who delivered an opening remark. He stated that the general lecture is a routine agenda held at the beginning of the semester. The Dean invited the participants to pay attention to the National Sports Grand Design (GBON) because it contains the steps in holding and regulating the sports.
“In July, Solo will host the ASEAN Para Games. Thus, we will have duties and responsibilities in hosting the event. Hopefully, we could take a role in succeeding GBON and Para Games according to the theme of this general lecture,” Dr. Sapta Kunta stated.
Dr. Surono also stated that the long-term training for the athletes could achieve world-class achievements as the state’s investment in human resources development while improving the nation’s dignity at the international level. The main target is to achieve accomplishment in the Olympics and paralympic. Dr. Surono also explained the vision and mission of DBON. The vision of DBON is to achieve Indonesia with fit physics, noble characters, and world achievements. “The missions are to achieve Indonesian community who actively participate in sports with a good level of physical fitness. Then shaping students in education institution who actively participate in sports with noble characters, skill, and fit physics,” Dr. Surono explained.
The next DBON mission is to shape athletes with world achievements with long-term training based on sports science and technology as the main supporting factor. Then, to develop the sports industry that supports national sports training and development and contributes to the economic growth national economic growth. The last mission is to achieve modern, systematic, synergistic, accountable, tiered, and sustainable management of national sports coaching and development to improve the community sports culture and improve national sports’ capacity, synergy, and productivity while developing a national sports-based economy. “DBON coverage is recreational sports, education, achievement, and sports industry,” he added.
Dr. Surono added that Solo would host the largest sports for disability event in July 2022 and is preparing itself through venues renovation, establishing a steering committee, and selecting a mascot, logo, tagline, and theme song. The opening ceremony for the event will be held in Sriwedari Stadium on 23 July 2022, and the closing ceremony on 30 July 2022, following strict health protocols. “The access to the venue will be open through one door and limited,” he added.
Dr. Surono invited all participants to participate in DBON and ASEAN Para Games 2022. FKOR UNS is also located in Solo, which will host the event. Humas UNS
