UNS – As a way of internationalization, Faculty of Economic and Bussiness Universitas Sebelas Maret (FEB UNS) Surakarta held The Fifth Sebelas Maret International Conference On Business, Economics, and Social Science (The 5th SMICBES) at The Anvaya Beach Resort, Bali On Wednesday-Friday (17-19/7/2018). This year, SMICBES was associated with Journal of Financial Stability that conducts The Second International Conference on Finance, Banking, and Financial Stability. This joint conference was a way to realize the UNS purpose which is becoming World Class University.
There came experts of economic, finance, and banking from various country like Halim Alamsyah (The Head of the board of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation), Iftekhar Hasan (Fordham University, USA), Kose John (Stern School of Business, New York University, USA), Renee Adams (University of South Wales, Australia), Ali Kutan (Southern Illionis University, USA), Heman Merchant (University of South Florida St Petersburg, USA), and Amine Tarazi (Universite de Limonges, France). There were 325 papers presented by the researchers from Indonesia and overseas like USA, Canada, Poland, England, Australia, Taiwan, India, South Korea, Malaysia, and Thailand.
This conference was aimed to disseminate researches in terms of business, economic, and other social sciences and to improve the quality of research and scientific publication. It offered an opportunity for Indonesian researchers, especially from UNS, to develop the knowledge about the updated research topics from the experts from world famous universities like Fordham University and New York University.
Besides, this conference is expected to improve the quantity and quality of publication of UNS and other universities in Indonesia. To realize it, The 5th SMICBES facilitated some best articles to be published on 15 international reputable journals (indexed on SCOPUS) which were partners in this event.
The 5th SMICBES was cooperated with Kemenristekdikti, Indonesia Deposit Insurance Cooperation, HSBC, Putra Sampoerna Foundation, Sampoerna University, and Bank of Finland. Some partnered universities like Universite de Limonges, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, and UIN Raden Fatah Palembang also supported this event. humas.red-uns/Imr/Dty
