UNS — The Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business (KAFEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a talkshow with the theme “From Local to Global: Learn the Success Secrets in Digitalizing MSMEs with KAFEB UNS”. This activity was held on Saturday (6/5/2023) in Jakarta.
There were more than 1,000 participants attending this event. The importance of digitalization was conveyed to the participants in this event. The information and insights could be a support in starting and developing Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) so that they can more quickly achieve profitable economies of scale.
Through this talkshow, it is hoped that alumni will get the views and experiences of expert speakers in the fields of digitalization and MSME development. The speakers were the Director of the Jakarta Experience Board, Novita Dewi, the Founder of Batik Riana, Riana Kusuma, and the Head of Social Entrepreneurship and Incubation Division of Bank BRI, Dani Wildan.
“Besides being a platform for sharing, it is hoped that this talkshow can also become a forum for FEB alumni who attend specifically for MSME participants to be able to network and develop their MSME businesses,” Novita Dewi said.
On this occasion, the speakers discussed the importance of digitalization in increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs in this modern era. In addition, it also discussed the keys to successful digitalization of MSMEs, such as choosing the right offline platforms, interesting and relevant content, effective use of social media, and appropriate use of technology.
This talk show ended with a highly interactive question and answer session. The enthusiasm of the participants was very visible. The participants were also given the opportunity to showcase their products or services through the provided exhibition booths.
“Of course, I hope that the enthusiasm of the participants to actively participate in the KAFEB UNS programs that support the growth of MSMEs can continue to run well,” Riana Kusuma concluded.
Meanwhile, Dani Wildan added that the Government, through BUMN, is pushing for a digital economic ecosystem, one of which is mentoring and financing MSMEs to be able to compete globally.
“BRI also provides facilities to support MSME mentoring so that they can scale up. Then we know that the multiplier effect of these MSMEs will have an extraordinary economic growth impact,” Dani said.
KAFEB UNS itself is an organization that is academic, social, and professional. The aim of establishing KAFEB UNS is to create alumni who are academic, productive, competitive, and become community servants who are cultured and having Indonesian personalities through the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Tertiary Education.
