  1. Borobudur Temple

If you are seeking one of the best-preserved ancient monument in Indonesia, Borobudur temple should be on the top of your travel list. It is located in Magelang, 99 kms west of Solo or around 3 hours drive by car. This largest Buddhist monument was built in the 8th and 9th centuries. It is covering a total surface area of 2,500 m2 consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular cones, and the monumental stupa. US$10/Rp 110,000 for non-Indonesian registered students (ISIC or university card is required). The operational hours are from 06.00 AM to 05.00 PM daily.

 

  1. Gunung Bromo

Java island is almost entirely volcanic origin and it contains numerous volcanoes. That is why one of the great thing you can do while in Indonesia especially in Java is to climb volcanoes. The most famous volcano to visit in Java without any doubt is Gunung Bromo that located in the southeast of Surabaya, the capital of East Java. The volcano is part of the conservation area named Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. The place is very famous to witness sunrise in the mid of astonishing view of volcanic complex.
