SOLO – One of the agenda in the series of “Overseas Student Goes to the Village” for new overseas students of UNS was teaching in elementary schools. Students were so enthusiastic.
After enjoying breakfast with host-family members, participants met students of MIN Hadiluwih. One participant from Hong Kong said that he was happy to teach English and how to sing.
“Yesterday, we had the same friends came to the village and stayed here for one night. Now, we are all teaching in elementary school. Today, the participants met students MIN Hadiluwih. The children are funny, friendly, and always smiling. I teach an English song entitled “Hockey Pockey”. Happy, I’m happy, they’re happy, you’re happy”, said Lau Chak Chun, UNS student from Hong Kong.
Teacher of MIN Hadiluwih, Siti Mardiyah, said that she was happy with the visit of overseas students of UNS. She said, “I am delighted with the visit of overseas student of UNS. I hope that my students will get insight and experience from them. So, they are not only familiar with the village, with their country, but also with friends from Korea, China, Thailand, Canada and others”.
Mardiyah added that the school is ready to welcome overseas students again if they want to go back. She said that the children were very enthusiastic in the activity.
