UNS – The National Selection Team for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) for the year 2024, held a press conference regarding the new student admission system. In the virtual press conference held on Friday (8/12/2023), information regarding the implementation of the Achievement-Based National Selection (SNBP) and Test-Based National Selection (SNBT) for 2024 was conveyed.

The press conference was opened by the Head of the Education Standardization, Curriculum, and Assessment Agency (BSKAP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Anindito Aditomo, who explained the principles of the 2024 SNPMB implementation, focusing on optimizing capacity and fairness.

There are several differences between SNBP 2023 and SNBP 2024 highlighted in the press conference. One of the differences is the number of study program choices that can be selected in SNBP 2024, allowing students to choose a maximum of four study programs.

Another difference is that students who pass SNBP cannot register for SNBT and Independent Selection (SM) in any state university, meaning students accepted through SNBP are required to enroll.

Additionally, participants who have been accepted and have registered for SNBT will not be accepted in the Independent Selection (SM) at any state university.

“This is a crucial point in the implementation of SNBP in 2024, where SNBP participants must be confident in their chosen study program,” Anindito explained.

Apart from the differences in the implementation of SNBP 2024 mentioned above, the involvement of school principals and education offices in ensuring the success of SNBP implementation is emphasized. This is due to the fact that many schools have not finalized registrations by the deadline.

The schedule for UTBK SNBT in 2024 is as follows: Registration for UTBK SNBT will be open from March 21 to April 5, 2024. The first wave of UTBK SNBT will take place on April 30, 2024, and from May 2 to May 7, 2024. The second wave of UTBK SNBT is scheduled for May 14-20, 2024. The announcement of SNBT results will be on June 13, 2024, and UTBK certificate downloads will be available from June 17 to July 31, 2024.

Meanwhile, the Head of UPT SPMB UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiwiyono, M.Si., added that UNS would follow the central policies related to the implementation of new student admissions. “We will prepare everything thoroughly and, of course, ensure the schedule for each stage of new student admissions,” Prof. Hadiwiyono said.
