UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially launched the Rector Candidacy Selection and Screening Committee (P3CR) for the 2023-2028 Term in UNS Tower Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building Ballroom Monday (27/9/2022). The launch of P3CR shows UNS’s readiness to find and nominate prospective Rector who will participate in the 2023-2028 UNS Rector Election. The P3CR launch was opened directly by the Chairman of the UNS Trusteeship Council (MWA), Marshal of the TNI (Purn.) Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto, S.I.P., via Zoom Cloud Meeting from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) RI Building, Jakarta.
On this occasion, he was accompanied by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, the Chairman of the Academic Senate (SA) UNS, Prof. Adi Sulistiyono, Chairman of UNS Board of Professor, Prof. Suranto, and the Deputy Chairman of MWA UNS, Prof. Hasan Fauzi. In his remarks, The Marshal of TNI (Purn.) Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto said that UNS Rector Election for the 2023-2028 term was held under a different mechanism than the previous period because this will be the first time for UNS to conduct a Rector election after being designated as a Legal Entity State University (PTNBH) through Government Regulation (PP) No. 56 of 2020. “Therefore, we hope this (red: UNS Rector Election for 2023-2028 term) can be conducted in an orderly manner, in compliance with laws and regulations, and transparent following the PP mandate,” said TNI Marshal (Purn.) Dr. (HC) Hadi Tjahjanto.
Stages of UNS Rector Election for the 2023-2028 Service Period
In the presence of P3CR and the media attending the event directly at the UNS Tower Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building Ballroom, the Marshal of the TNI (Purn.) Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto revealed the stages of the 2023-2028 UNS Rector Election, which began this year. He explained that the mechanism for the UNS Rector Election for the Service Period 2023-2028 began on September 27, 2022, marked by the P3CR Launching, followed by dissemination.
Afterward, the Election of the UNS Rector for the Service of 2023-2028 will be followed by the screening of prospective Rector held on October 3-10, 2022. At this stage, the registration of prospective candidates for UNS Rector is open. The prospective UNS Rector registration document submission deadline is set on October 11, 2022. Following this stage, the verification stages to check the completeness of the prospective Rector candidates’ administrative requirements will be carried out on October 12-14, 2022. For the prospective UNS Rector who passes the verification phase, they will be allowed to deliver their mission and vision on October 16-17, 2022. “The MWA plenary meeting will determine three candidates for UNS Rector on October 20, 2022, and the UNS Rector candidate vision and mission presentation will be held on October 27-28, 2022,” explained Hadi Tjahjanto.
After the UNS Rector Candidates presented their mission vision, the TNI Marshal (Purn.) Dr. (HC) Hadi Tjahjanto said the MWA would hold a plenary meeting to elect the new Rector on November 11, 2022. “The elected UNS Rector will be appointed on April 10-11, 2023,” added Hadi Tjahjanto.
Given that the 2023-2028 Election of the UNS Rector is a significant moment, Hadi Tjahjanto hopes for this event to involve UNS alumni, academic members, and partners to provide support. “We also pray for this activity implementation to be conducted smoothly and organized in an orderly and favorable manner,” he concluded.
P3CR Profile
The P3CR thas was launched on September 27, 2022, is a manifestation of UNS MWA concerns in screening prospective UNS Rector candidates, supported by lecturers, academic support staff, and students as a technical team. Not only that, but MWA UNS also formed a P3CR Supervisory Committee, which involved three organs at UNS, namely the Academic Senate, the University Head, and the Board of Professors. Furthermore, in the screening process, two-panel sessions will be held involving all organs at UNS.
The P3CR was launched by TNI Marshal (Purn.) Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto is directly led by Prof. Tri Atmojo Kusmayadi, assisted by Prof. (UNS) Soeprayitno as Secretary, with members consisting of Prof. Wiedy Murtini, Ir. Budi Harto, Prof. Istadiyanta, Muhammad Sholihin, S.Ag., S.I.P, and Soffan Mujahid.
Meanwhile, the P3CR Supervisory Committee is led by Prof. Suntoro, assisted by Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo as Secretary, with members consisting of Prof. Muhammad Nizam, Prof. Izza Mafruhah, Prof. Okid Parama Astirin. Prof. Warto, Dr. Rahmanu Widayat, Prof. Siswandari, and Prof. Pujiyono. Humas UNS
