UNS — The Dean of Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Dr. Rahmanu Widayat, opened the competition and art exhibition Multiframe #3 on Thursday (30/12/2021). The opening ceremony was held through the Zoom Cloud Meeting, while the artworks submitted for the competition were exhibited at artsteps.com.
In his opening remark, Dr. Rahmanu thanked the Fine Arts Program FSRD UNS that has initiated the third Multiframe. For him, the theme “Ekspresi Total di Era Kesadaran Baru” (the expression in the new awareness era) in Multiframe #3 becomes a means for artists and creators to show their best works.
“This event is a commitment from Fine Arts Program to build fine arts energy from the academia community in Indonesia to work together in providing total expression in a new awareness,” he stated.
Three juries were invited by FSRD UNS as curators and assessed each artwork submitted for the competition.
“The juries we invited are Dr. suwarno Wisetrotomo from ISI Surakarta, Drs. Asmudjo Jono Irianto, M.Sn from ITB, and Dr. Setyo Budi the Head of Fine Arts Program in our faculty,” Dr. Rahmanu added.
Multiframe #3 also represents the psycho-social phenomenon in the community that is starting to enter the new order due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The community has considered factual and digital phenomena as something usual amid the technology development, especially artworks presented virtually.
In its third year, 46 art works were submitted from seven universities in Indonesia including UNS as host, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta, ISI Padang Panjang, Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya, Universitas Kristen Maranatha, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), and Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia (UPMI) Bali.
