UNS — The Center for Development and Management for General Courses (P3MKU), Institute of Educational Quality Development and Assurance (LPPMP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, held a workshop on the Synergy Between Higher Education Institution and the Industrial World in Entrepreneurial Activities. This workshop was conducted virtually through Zoom Cloud Meeting on Monday (4/4/2022).

In his remarks, the Chairman of the UNS LPPMP, Prof. Dr. Sarwiji Suwandi, M.Pd., revealed that this workshop is an important activity to strengthen General Courses (MKU) development and innovation, especially in Entrepreneurship Course as one of the General Courses in UNS. We must always strive for MKU implementation to run well. This workshop specifically addresses Entrepreneurship Course because the course has become one of UNS’s identity courses. Through this workshop, we hope to increase the effectiveness of the implementation of Entrepreneurship lectures,” said Prof. Sarwiji.

Prof. Sariwji continued that, in developing an Entrepreneurship course, the efforts taken should not be segmented or run alone. This development needs continuous collaboration and synergy to realize the main goals of the Entrepreneurship Course itself. “This can be done through periodic discussions to develop the Achievement of the Intended Learning Outcome (CPL) for the Entrepreneurship Course. Hopefully, through this workshop, P3MKU LPPMP UNS can establish a course plan that suits students’ needs. While adhering to Key Performance Indicators (IKU), thus, it can achieve even higher outcomes,” explained Prof. Sarwiji. He also hopes that the workshop results can also prepare UNS graduates to enter the job market and develop their businesses.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Workshop Committee and the Coordinator of the Religion Education Sector P3MKU LPPMP UNS, Arifuddin, Lc., M.A., said that the workshop was expected to bring various benefits, especially for the entrepreneurship course development in the UNS environment. “This activity also aims to establish cooperation between the industrial sector and academic institution or campus. Especially in the development of entrepreneurship courses,” said Arifuddin.

UNS itself has been striving to implement project-based learning for the Entrepreneurship Course. Also, for other MKUs, the course plans are synergized to facilitate simultaneous collaboration in developing a project-based learning system. “Hopefully, this event will run smoothly, and we can get a lot of inspiration and benefits,” Arifuddin said.

The workshop presents a Professor in Environmental Pollution Sciences of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UNS, Prof. Dr. Prabang Setyono, S.Si, M.Si., as the main speaker. Prof. Prabang delivered material on the added value of synergy between universities and the industrial world in entrepreneurial activities.
