UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta student won another national competition. Fiska Amanda Mulia, History Education Program (Prodi) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UNS, won 2nd position in the Infographic Poster Competition held by Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK) on October 2021.
Fiska stated that she was just trying to participate in the competition. The last-years student prepared her poster between her supervision time for undergraduate thesis writing. The student from Gemolong stated that she did not expect to win 2nd place.
“Alhamdulillah, grateful because I am a last-year student while waiting for undergraduate thesis revision from my supervisor. I tried to participate and did not expect to win,” Fiska stated.
The poster competition she participated in was an individual competition for university students in Indonesia. At the early stage, Fiska sent her poster to the committee, which then was selected to participate in the Best 9 posters before being re-assessed and was announced as the 2nd winner.
This achievement has a special meaning for Fiska because she has won twice in two competitions held by ITK. “In 2020, I won 2nd place for business plan competition in ITK and now 2nd place poster (competition in ITK),” she said.
Since joining UNS, Fiska has won several competitions. In 2017, she won funding for her cake business, Bronislur, which has significant growth and brought Fiska as the finalist of the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Award X held by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in 2019. Fiska also won 1st place in the national MSME Competition held by Institut Pertanian Bogor in 2020. Currently, she is working on her undergraduate thesis while managing her Bronislur business.
