UNS — The Commander of Indonesia National Army (TNI) Marshal TNI Dr. (H.C.) Hadi Tjahjanto S.I.P welcomed and provided an opening remark to the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta new students 2021 in the online Campus Life Introduction Program for New Students (PKKMB) UNS broadcasted through the UNS official YouTube channel on Friday (13/8/2021).
“As the Chairman of Board of Trustees (MWA) Higher Education with Legal Entity (PTNBH) UNS, I welcome the new students to UNS,” Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto stated.
Besides welcoming the new students, the commander also provided several vital messages for the new students. Firstly, new students should start learning the campus environment and adapt to campus life. He asked the new students to learn from their new teachers and seniors. “PKKMB is a means to introduce both academic and non-academic activities for new students so that they can adapt to the new environment,” he stated.
Secondly, Marshal TNI Hadi Tjahjanto asked the new students to use their time wisely, expand their knowledge, hone their skills, and build their ability to communicate and work collectively. Thirdly, he encouraged the new students to equip themselves with various skills because they will face technological advancement-related challenges in the future.
“The competitions that you will experience will be more complex and challenging than the previous generations. You will compete with the technology advancement, digital technology, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and others,” he added.
The commander gave an example of how the need for vaccines, medicines, and health equipment in Indonesia amid the pandemic could be easily fulfilled if the national industries were equipped with advanced technology. Therefore, he considers that the current challenges faced by Indonesia should be answered by mastery of technology because the country has large natural resources potential. He demands that UNS students 2021 could answer this great challenge.
“You will not only compete with people from other nations. This technology is needed to use our natural reserves both below and inside the sea,” he concluded. Humas UNS
