UNS — The Community Collaborative Team (Tim Kemitraan Masyarakat- PKM) from the peer group of Halal Research Center and Services (HRCS) Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Sebelas Maret held a national webinar on Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) license and halal certification. The webinar was held to assist the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to obtain certification from an official institution.
The webinar was initiated as a means of discussion for MSMEs to obtain information on the types of products that need BPOM license, the process of BPOM licensing process and halal license from LPPOM MUI, and sharing experiences among the MSMEs.
UNS was represented by Dr. Ari Diana and Dr. Ir. Choiroel Anam as speakers who shared information on assistance to obtain halal certificate provided by HRCS LPPM UNS and product testing that could be provided by UNS Integrated Laboratory.
“The appearance of new businesses in the online and offline market (demands businesses) to build consumer’s trusts and image to be known by the community. A way that could be taken by the entrepreneur is registering for a certificate from official institutions such as BPOM and LPPOM MUI as a guarantee of product quality,” Dr. Muhammad Cahyadi, Chief PKM, stated in the webinar on Saturday (11/9/2021).
Dr. Agr. Sc. Ernoiz Antriyandarti was also attended to discuss steps in capital management, income and costs management, and tips and tricks in starting a business in the digital era. Besides, webinar, the team also provides intensive assistance for UNS partner MSME that produces frozen food (es gabus), the 90’s es gabus.
The assistance was provided in obtaining a halal certificate, video profile production for promotional materials, and product packaging design training conducted by Nidyah Widyamurti, S.Sn., M.Ikom., who emphasized the alignment between packaging design and company image and target market. The training also provided a recommendation for the product packaging model.
“We hope these activities could benefit, not only improving knowledge but also as applicable practices to develop and advance MSMEs business,” Dr. Cahyadi added. Humas UNS
