UNS — Another international level achievement was accomplished by Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta students. UNS Team that consisted of Farah Yuki Prasetyawati, Rizal Galih Pradana, Afifah Harwanti, Pradana Ricardo, and Stefani Widyaningrum won two prizes, the gold medal and special award, in the competition held by Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA).
In an interview with uns.ac.id, Rizal Galih Pradana or Rizal, stated that his team proposed the idea for the stress-reducing tool for road users in the red lights named ABIRES.
“This product also introduces various traditional music as a form of cultural conservation. ABIRES is equipped with a cooling system that is applied in the road around the red lights. We choose to optimize the sunlight as a source of energy,” Rizal explained on Wednesday (5/1/2022).
The idea was inspired by the data on stress levels and fatigue of road users that could lead to various dangers because they become less focused. “Music and cooling system are used to provide relaxing effects for drivers,” the Psychology Program student Faculty of Medical Science explained.
Indonesia International Applied Science Olympiad (I2ASPO) was participated by 410 teams from 14 countries and was held online. The early selection process includes essay and poster assessment, followed by presentation through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform.
“We did not expect because (we) only did a mock presentation once. Our supports were prayers and trust among the team. Hopefully, there will be ABIRES product or innovation in other technologies could collaborate with many disciplines continuously,” Rizal concluded. Humas UNS
