UNS — Proud news came from the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. The faculty won the National Movement for Mental Revolution from the Coordinating Ministry (Kemenko) for Human Resource Development and Culture (PMK) RI.
This news is confirmed by the FKOR UNS proposal team leader, Dr. Rony Syaifullah, on Sunday (22/8/2021). Dr. Rony stated in the official release that the proposal had been implemented on 19-22 June 2021. “Alhamdulillah, from the National Movement for Mental Revolution selection from Kemenko PMK RI and Indonesian Rector Forum selected 55 proposals to be funded,” Dr. Rony Syaifullah stated.
This year, the National Movement for Mental Revolution has “Gotong Royong Merajut Negeri Hadapi Pandemi” (Together Shape the Country to Face the Pandemic) as a theme. This movement has three objectives: contributing to the community, encouraging active participation, and encouraging the formation of the center for Mental Revolution in universities.
National Movement for Mental Revolution has seven options: campus teaching, gotong royong student community service program (KKN gotong royong), rural entrepreneurs, competition, new student project, humanities project, and real actions/other relevant activities.
Dr. Rony Syaifullah explained that FKOR UNS selected KKN gotong royong program started on 15 August 2021 and will be concluded on 15 September 2021. “This event was held in Wanadadi village, Banjarnegara District, Central Java,” he added.
KKN gotong royong FKOR UNS includes decorating padepokan, gotong royong with the local community, socialization and “sang Surya” gymnastic competition, and socialization on Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS).
Dr. Rony Syaifullah explained that “sang Surya” gymnastic is a pencak silat breathing gymnastic from Perguruan Tapak Suci developed by FKOR UNS faculty member as a preventive measure during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also explained that this program is in line with the activities from Mental Revolution Movement centers. “Including Gerakan Indonesia Melayani, Gerakan Indonesia Tertib, Gerakan Indonesia Bersih, and Gerakan Indonesia Bersatu,” FKOR UNS Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs stated.
With the KKN gotong royong program, he expected that the event could answer the Merdeka Belajar dan Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program’s demand to provide an opportunity for students to study 20 credit semesters outside the university. Humas UNS
