UNS — Disaster Study Center (PSB) Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta launched The 1st International Conference on Disaster Management and Climate Change (ICoDMC) 2021 website on Saturday (22/05/2021). The launching was announced by the Chief of PSB UNS, Prof. Dr. Chatarina Muryani, M.Si., at the Online Discussion Series 9 PSB LPPM UNS through the Zoom Cloud Meeting. Two hundred and seventy-seven participants from university students, faculty members, the center for disaster study, regional disaster management, institutions, and other universities attended the event.
ICoDMC 2021 website can be accessed in icodmc2021.uns.ac.id. The site provides information on the webinar, scientific paper publication opportunity, registration, and paper submission. The submitted articles have the opportunity to be published in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, and selected articles will be published in the Journal of Soil Science, and Agroclimatology Scopus indexed journal.
“If you aim for Journal of Soil Science and Agroclimatology, your article should be on land and climate change. Papers on other topics will be published on IOP,” Prof. Chatarina Muryani explained.
ICoDMC 2021 will be held on Saturday (4/9/2021) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting. The theme of the international conference is “Environment Degradation and Disaster Management”, and Disaster Management, Disaster Education, Living in Harmony with Disaster Management, Regional Planning for Disaster Management, Building and Landscape for Disaster Mitigation, Mitigation and Adaptation to Climate Change, Climate Change Policy, Land Degradation, and Land Conservation, Water Quality, and Quantity Problems, Air Pollution and Greenhouse Effect, Urban Heat Island (UHI) as sub-themes.
Prof. Chatarina Muryani also stated that the PSB LPPM UNS team would publish the papers submitted to the event on the IOP-EES proceeding in January – February 2022. This event will serve as a platform for researchers to disseminate their studies and provide suggestions for the government and policymakers in environment and disaster mitigations. The event also increases UNS international reputation and PSB LPPM UNS image branding at the international level.
