UNSThe Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta successfully held an event for the Recital of the Pharmacist Professional Oath Batch I for the Academic Year 2023. This moment became special because the oath was made to the first generation of the Pharmacist Professional Study Program (PSPA) UNS. The oath was taken in the Hall of Building C, 5th Floor FMIPA UNS on Friday (24/3/2023).

The recitation of the Pharmacist’s Professional Oath was attended by several parties. They were representatives of the Central Management (PP) of the Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI), apt. Noffendri, S.Si.; Pharmacy Council representative, apt. dr. Sri Sulistyani, M.M .; representative of the Central Java Pharmacist Association Regional Management, apt. Fabianus Herman Kurnia Agung W., M.Farm .; Representative of the Surakarta Pharmacist Association Branch, apt. Verawati Hadi, M. Farm .; representative of the Central Java Provincial Health Office, Heri Purnomo; representative of the Surakarta City Health Office, Karlina Kartika Sari; the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum .; Dean of FMIPA UNS, Drs. Harjana, M.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D.; the Vice Deans of FMIPA UNS; Head of Study Program (Head of Study Program) and Lecturers of Pharmacy Study Program FMIPA UNS; religious leaders; as well as parents and/or guardians of pharmacists who had taken an oath.

The Head of PSPA FMIPA UNS, Dr. apt. Dinar Sari Cahyaningrum, S.Farm., M.Sc., reported educational results and read out the graduation decree. As many as seventeen pharmacists hade been sworn in as a follow-up to passing the test at the PSPA FMIPA UNS batch I for the academic year 2022/2023.

PSPA FMIPA UNS in this period graduated students with an average GPA of 3.81. There are three pharmacists who graduated with the title of “With Great Honor”. Meanwhile, as many as fourteen pharmacists graduated with the title “With Highest Honor”, or Cumlaude.

Best Cumlaude Graduate

PSPA FMIPA UNS succeeded in producing the cumlaude graduates. At the national level, PSPA UNS succeeded in achieving a passing percentage of 89.5%. This number is much higher than the national average of 64.29%. This percentage was obtained after the students took the Computer Based Test (CBT) Indonesian Pharmacist Competency Test (UKAI) which was held simultaneously at the national level.

The best cumlaude graduate and UKAI CBT score holders is apt. Isna Khoirum Muthiah, S. Farm. She successfully achieved a GPA of 3.97 with a UKAI CBT score of 92.5. Previously, Isna studied for four years at the Pharmacy Study Program, FMIPA UNS. She then continued to study PSPA FMIPA UNS for one year.

Isna hopes that she and her colleagues who have taken the oath of pharmacist profession can have successful careers in future. She also hopes that her alma mater will be even more successful.

 “Always be success for batch I Pharmacists in UNS. Also for the UNS Pharmacist Professional Study Program. Hopefully it will be even more successful,” Isna said.

Message from the Rector of UNS

UNS Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. as the Leader of UNS highly appreciates the new UNS pharmacists. He advised that the new pharmacists at UNS could become pharmacists with excellence and integrity. They need to prioritize morality and good pharmaceutical services to the public.

“Keep upholding the dignity of the pharmacist profession and the good name of UNS by practicing pharmacy in a professional, honest and responsible manner,” Prof. Jamal said.

He also asked for the willingness of the Management of PSPA FMIPA UNS to continue to assist and establish good communication with its graduates. This is to help new pharmacists to work optimally and achieve their best in the community.

Response from the Head of PSPA FMIPA UNS

Dr. apt. Dinar explained that PSPA FMIPA UNS is a new Study Program that will start accepting students in 2022. She also appreciated the new pharmacists who successfully graduated and made UNS proud at the national level.

Alhamdulillah, the passing percentage is far above the national average. That is the achievement of PSPA FMIPA UNS. I’m quite proud. It’s the first time to take part but it has reached almost 90 percent of its graduation,” Dr. apt. Dinar said.

She has high hopes for the new UNS pharmacists. Wherever they are, Dr. apt. Dinar hopes that they will always uphold the integrity of a pharmacist and carry out their competence in a professional manner.
