UNS — The Civil Engineering Education Study Program, Structural Engineering Education (PTB) Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, held a Flip Learning-Based Educational Video Production Training on Tuesday (29/6/2021), at SMKN 5 Surakarta.
The training aims to train Vocational School (SMK) teachers to have Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills, to answer the challenges in the education field during the disruptive digital era.
The Head of Civil Engineering Education PTB UNS Research Group, Dr. AG Tamrin, explains that his party realizes the transformation challenges faced by the education sector, due to the digitization of learning material.
Therefore, teachers as the spearhead of the education sector must enhance their competencies, especially in the ICT field, to be able to develop an interactive learning media that is suitable for the current generation characteristics as a digital native.
“Indeed, we must collaborate with Vocational Teachers’ Training Institution (LPTK) and SMK to enhance teachers’ competencies in ICT,” said Dr. AG Tamrin in his statement on Saturday (17/6/2021).
Further, he explains that the synergy between LPTK and SMK can support the education sector, especially the vocational education transformation.
“We deliver this training on educational video production with flip learning using a blended training method. The event was opened by the Head of Construction and Property Engineering Study Program in SMKN 5 Surakarta, with teachers attending from SMKN 2 Surakarta and SMKN 5 Surakarta, as well as teachers from PTB Study Program,” he added.
Wahyu Noviansyah, M.Pd., as a member of the Research Group, hopes that the training can be beneficial for the SMK teachers.
“Therefore, this training is expected to improve teachers’ capacities in preparing educational videos, especially because the educational video has currently become learning media that is loved by the current generation, which tends to be digital native,” said Wahyu Noviansyah, M.Pd. Humas UNS
