UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, accompanied by Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, attended the Blood Donation event held in the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS on Thursday (11/11/2021). The blood donation event was held by Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) UNS, in collaboration with FH UNS, PMI Surakarta, Medical Center UNS, and FH UNS Alumni Association.
In his opening remark, The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, greatly appreciated the monthly blood donation program. “Alhamdulillah, this blood donation event is regularly each month. I call the donors are humanity warriors. Moreover, this event is held close to Remembrance Day on 10 November. Hopefully, this kind of positive event could inspire,” Prof. Jamal mentioned.
With the monthly schedule, Prof. Jamal hoped that it could facilitate UNS academic members who want to donate their blood. “The academic members of UNS are thousands if they want to donate, (they) don’t need to go far because each month there is blood donation event in UNS. Although blood donation was held during the pandemic, the committee prepared tight health protocols,” he added.
The Chairwoman of DWP UNS, Budhi Widjajanti Jamal Wiwoho, stated that in the past, DWP UNS held donations once a year. But, since September 2021, the blood donation event has been held regularly each month. “First in the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS, then in the Faculty of Agriculture (FP) and now in FH,” Budhi Widjajanti stated.
Budhi Widjajanti represented DWP UNS, thanked all parties, from FH UNS, PMI Surakarta, Medical Center UNS, and FH UNS Alumni Association, for their assistance in managing the event.
Vice-Dean for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs FH UNS, Dr. Isharyanto, represent Dean of FH UNS, stated that he is happy to be the host of blood donation. “We are grateful because there is an opportunity to do a good thing by hosting blood donation. And the interest from FH UNS academic members to participate in the donor is high,” Dr. Isharyanto stated. Humas UNS
