UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, officially freeze the Student Association (Ormawa) of Korps Mahasiswa Siaga (Corps of Student Reserve) Battalion 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS or Student Regiment (Menwa – Resimen Mahasiswa) UNS through UNS Rector Decree Number 2815/UN27/KH/2021 dated 27 October 2021.
The decree regulated that Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS is banned from conducting any activity. This suspension is followed-up with further monitoring and evaluation on Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa as a student organization in UNS.
The Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 UNS Evaluation Team Leader, Dr. Sunny Ummul Firdaus, S.H., M.H stated that the decision to freeze Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa activities was taken after the Rector of UNS received the recommendation from the evaluation team. In their recommendation, the evaluation team found that there was a violation of rules in the implementation of Basic Education and Training Pra Gladi Patria XXXVI Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS.
“Based on the evaluation results on the facts and documents and information from multiple parties, the Evaluation Team concluded that there were activities that violate the provisions that have been set in the Activity Permit (SIK) for Basic Education and Training Pra Gladi Patria XXXVI Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS,” Dr. Sunny explained on Friday (29/10/2021).
The Evaluation Team was established by the Rector of UNS one day after the incident that killed Gilang Endi Saputra, a participant of Basic Education and Training Pra Gladi Patria XXXVI Korps Mahasiswa Siaga Batalyon 905 Jagal Abilawa UNS. The Evaluation Team was formed through the Letter of Assignment number 4461/UN27/KP/2021 dated 25 October 2021. The team consists of six faculty members from the Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Medical Science (FK), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).
