UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, SH, M.Hum., received a visit from the Attaché for University and Education Cooperation, French Embassy to Indonesia, Philomène Robin, on Tuesday (24/5/2022). In this visit, Philomène Robin was accompanied by François Dabin, the Director of IFI Yogyakarta, and Andraine A. Febreinza, Person in Charge of Campus France Yogyakarta. The visit was intended to discuss various UNS cooperation with universities in France and related activities in the Joint Working Group Indonesia-France, which will be held at the end of June 2022.
The Rector of UNS, who was accompanied by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, and the Director of Partnership, Development, and Internationalization UNS, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, explained that UNS is quite active in collaborating with higher education institutions in France for education, research, staff development, and many others. For example, in recent years, UNS has partnered with Universite de Limoges in research collaboration through the PHC Nusantara program funded by the French government. Additionally, the two universities also formed a consortium with several partner universities in Europe and Indonesia for the Erasmus+ CBHE OPTBANK program in 2017-2021 with funding from the European Commission. Furthermore, Prof. Jamal also said that many UNS lecturers are graduated from universities in France.
After a meeting with the Rector of UNS, the Attachée for University and Education Cooperation, French Embassy to Indonesia discussed with the Vice-Dean for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs from all faculties and schools in UNS, as well as researchers who have collaborated with French universities.
