UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), Tuesday (27/6/2023) afternoon. The signing of the MoU between UNS and Lemhannas RI took place offline in the Dwiwarna Purwa Room, Pancagatra Building Lemhannas RI, Central Jakarta.

The MoU was signed directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. Meanwhile Lemhannas RI was represented by Andi Widjajanto as Governor of Lemhannas RI. He was accompanied by officials from Lemhannas RI.

The signing of the MoU was also attended by the Chairman of the KPK, Komjen. Pol. Drs. Firli Bahuri, M.Sc.; the Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, S.E., M.SIE .; the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A .; the Rector of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng., IPU, A.Eng; and the Rector of Universitas Mulawarman (Unmul), Dr. Ir. H. Abdunnur., M.Sc.

In signing the MoU, UNS and Lemhannas RI agreed on a memorandum of understanding on improving the quality of human resources, one of which is strengthening national values. The purpose of agreeing on this memorandum of understanding is to improve institutional relations between the two parties.

The scope of this agreement includes improving the quality of human resources through education and research, community service, the exchange of experts, strengthening national values, the exchange of information, and the implementation of assessments, as well as other mutually agreed fields.

The parties follow up the implementation of this memorandum of understanding, which will be stated in the cooperation agreement no later than three months after the memorandum of understanding is signed. The validity period of this memorandum of understanding is five years and can be extended or terminated before it expires with the agreement of the parties. This memorandum of understanding will be evaluated periodically at least once a year jointly by the parties.

Through the signing of this MoU, Prof. Jamal appreciated the signing of the MoU between UNS and Lemhannas RI. He explained that UNS has quite a lot of resources to contribute, develop, and think for Lemhannas RI.

“We also have activities between UNS and Lemhannas RI. Among them is that UNS leaders have been involved in the national taplai (red: strengthening of values) program carried out by Lemhannas RI,” Prof. Jamal said.

Prof. Jamal considered that the MoU was very important for UNS. This is useful for UNS in maintaining sustainability and being at the forefront of advancing Indonesia’s national resilience. Humas UNS
