UNS — Three lecturers of Food Technology (ITP) Department of Agriculture Faculty (FP) of University of Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta conducted research at the Department of Food Technology, Safety, and Health, Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, Ghent University, in Belgium. They are also contributing to the international activities of UNS towards World Class University (WCU).
The three of them are Danar Praseptiangga, Ph.D., Adhitya Pitara Sanjaya, M.Sc., and Dimas Rahadian Aji Muhammad, Ph.D. Interestingly, these three young lecturers received different supporting funding. Danar Praseptiangga, Ph.D. came to the Ghent University as a Visiting Scholar under the 2019 Scheme for Academic Exchange and Mobility (SAME) program of Directorate General of Science & Technology Resource and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.
“The activity which carried out for three months starting from September-November 2019 was related to academic sharing and research within the collaborative framework of UNS and Ghent University,” Danar said on Friday (12/06/2019).
Meanwhile, Adhitya Pitara Sanjaya, M.Sc. is at Ghent University as a recipient of the VLIR-UOS Belgium scholarship to participate in ‘The International Training Program on Evidence-Based Decision Making in Food Safety (ITP Food Safety)’ which held for two months from October to December this year.
Whilst, Dimas Rahadian Aji Muhammad, Ph.D., an alumni of Ghent University, came back came back to his alma mater as a Visiting Researcher to conduct a series of collaborative research activities with the Laboratory of Food Technology and Engineering for a month — November to December — with the travel grant from the ASEANplus platform, Ghent University.
Moreover, UNS and Ghent University will continue to collaborate in future. Some of the collaborative plans of UNS and Ghent University are collaborative research, joint publication, exchange program (scholars/student mobility), and joint workshop.
“Hopefully, these activities can enhance the reputation of UNS towards WCU and support the FP program of Internationalization Synergy of Achievement Acceleration (SIAP) by bringing the spirit of Gift from God, Respectful, Excellent, Acceleration, Teamwork (GREAT) of UNS FP ITP,” Danar explained. Humas UNS/Dwi/Try
