UNS — The National Conference (Munas) and the Grand Reunion of the Alumni Association of the Faculty of Agriculture (Ikatani) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta were closed with the performance of the Jamrud Band. The closing took place at the UNS FP building courtyard, Saturday night (18/3/2023). This activity was also held in commemoration of the 47th Dies Natalis UNS.

This event was also attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho; the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ahmad Yunus; and the Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Samanhudi. Hundreds of alumni from various generations, from the first to the last batch, also attended the FP UNS in this music concert.

Chairman of the National Conference and Grand Reunion Committee, Dr. Agung Wibowo said that this National Conference is actually held once every four years. However, the National Conference and Grand Reunion, which were supposed to be held in 2020, were postponed until 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile Jamrud’s performance also made history for FP UNS because he managed to bring the capital band for the first time at the National Conference and Grand Reunion.

“This is the first time we invited the band from the capital city. All funding and so on comes from alumni. So, this is an event from alumni and for alumni. In total there were around 1,600 invitations, from the first batch to the last batch. Then, the attendees were also spread from various islands, such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, Bali, Nusa Tenggara,” he said.

Furthermore, he added that the choice of Jamrud as a performer at the event was because the majority of the alumni who attended were from the 90s so it matched the appearance of the band that had been established 27 years ago.

When interviewed separately, Jamrud vocalist, Kris said that this was also their first time performing at UNS.

“This is our first visit to UNS, we often go to Solo. The impression was extraordinary, moreover we had also been informed that the majority of those who came were alumni of the 90s class. So, we think they also know songs from Jamrud,” he said.

Jamrud, which began performing at around 22.00 WIB, was greeted by cheers from the audience. Some of the songs that Jamrud performed included Surti, Selamat Ulang Tahun, Berakit-rakit, Pelangi di Matamu, Ningrat, and many other songs. Prof. Ahmad Yunus, Prof. Samanhudi, Dr. Agung Wibowo also appeared in collaboration with the rock band. They sang ‘Selamat Ulang Tahun’ song as a greeting for 47th Dies Natalis UNS. Humas UNS
