UNS — A student from the Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta managed to bring home a silver medal. The student is Sylvy Dwi Juniati, who is enrolled in the Diploma-3 Administrative Management Study Program (Prodi). Sylvy won second place in the women’s pencak silat, competing for the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s rotating trophy at the XXVII National Championship in 2023. The competition was held by the International Woman University (IWU) at the Padjadjaran Sports Hall, Bandung.
A total of 297 students from 61 universities across Indonesia participated in the competition. Sylvy mentioned that she competed in the women’s class F category, with a weight range of 70-75 kg.
“This competition took place from August 2 to August 6, 2023, with two rounds of matches: the semifinals on August 5 and the final on August 6,” Sylvy said, Wednesday (6/9/2023).
While expressing her happiness, Sylvy also admitted to feeling slightly unsatisfied and disappointed because she didn’t manage to win the gold medal. However, she expressed gratitude for winning the silver medal.
“I will maximize my training and preparation for the next championship with a more mature approach. Hopefully, in the next championship, I can bring home the gold medal,” she concluded. Humas UNS
