Prof. Hartono described the agreement as a strategic step to strengthen the UNS and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan collaboration. The aim is to enhance human resource development, support research aligned with industry and societal needs, and produce community service programs that directly benefit the public while promoting greater awareness of employment protection.

“This partnership seeks to foster synergy between the two institutions in education, research, and community service,” Prof. Hartono stated.

Through this collaboration, UNS aims to contribute more significantly to labor sector research and provide human resource training and development initiatives that benefit the wider community. The partnership aligns with the mutual commitment of both parties to contribute to national development through improved education and employment services.

“Collaboration with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan creates significant opportunities for UNS to develop community service programs focused on raising awareness about employment protection and improving worker welfare in Indonesia,” Prof. Hartono added.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Director of Human Capital and General Affairs, Abdur Rahman Irsyadi, also highlighted the importance of this partnership in expanding access to information on worker protection programs and creating opportunities for research to address labor challenges in Indonesia.

The collaboration extends to other areas, including developing training programs for students and workers, as well as joint research to inform employment policies and services. Both parties expressed hope that this synergy will deliver greater benefits to society, particularly in improving the quality and security of social protections for workers across Indonesia.

This partnership aligns with UNS’s commitment to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, which emphasizes partnerships to realize sustainable objectives.

This award was granted because UNS Hospital was committed to applying digital transformation in providing health care to ensure excellent, timely, and reliable services for the community. This effort is in line with the BPJS Kesehatan program that aims to create innovation to provide ease of access for the members of the National Health Insurance Program – Kartu Indonesia Sehat (JKN-KIS).

Under Prof. Ali Ghufron Mukti’s leadership as the President Director, BPJS Kesehatan created an online queue system at the First Level Healthcare Facility (FKTP) and Advanced Referral Health Facilities (FKRTL). UNS Hospital is also a teaching hospital as a pilot project for the online JKN-KIS queue system that aims to reduce waiting time for JKN-KIS members and improve healthcare service for the patient.

The award for UNS Hospital was granted directly by Prof. Ali Ghufron Mukti and the Director of Information Technology BPJS Kesehatan, Ir. Edwin Aristiawan to the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and the Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono. Prof. Jamal stated that he was grateful for the award and mentioned that the online queue system had been tested and implemented in UNS Hospital. The system is expected to ease the JKN-KIS members because before implementing the system, they needed long queue time that created a bottleneck in the hospital.

“Therefore, UNS Hospital was proud to be selected to test this online queue system,” Prof. Jamal stated.

A similar statement was provided by the Director of UNS Hospital, Prof. Hartono, who stated that this implementation is UNS Hospital’s contribution in providing benefits and best services for the community. Prof. Hartono added that the online queue system helped UNS Hospital that see an increase in the number of patients in the last few years.

“Because to this day, the patient queue becomes an issue that is hard to solve from year to year. Even amid the pandemic, the patient number increased, especially for hospitalization. The community also needs time to access BPJS services,” he shared. Humas UNS

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan, and the Director for General and Human Resources (HR) BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Abdur Rahman Irsyadi. Aside from the collaboration with the university, BPJS also collaborates with several faculties in UNS. Some of these faculties are the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), the Faculty of Law (FH), and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).

In his speech, Prof. Sajidan expressed his appreciation to BPJS for the opportunity to establish the partnership. “I would like to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for this collaboration. Hopefully, this collaboration can be implemented in the form of various beneficial activities, such as guest lectures, webinars, and other MBKM-related activities,” said Prof. Sajidan.

He also left a message that this collaboration shall be signed and implemented through ongoing joint collaboration. He also invited the faculties in UNS to work together to start developing programs that could be carried out alongside BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Meanwhile, Abdur Rahman Irsyadi, the Director of General and HR in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, said that his party was very open to various activities to implement the MoU.

“Later on, we will also start students’ internship program for 2-3 months in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan. The internships program at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will provide a certification of expertise for the interns. We will also provide incentives for students. This is also to support the MBKM program,” said Abdur.

The partnership between UNS and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will be valid for three years, effective since this signatory ceremony. However, the collaboration can be extended when deemed necessary after its expiration date. Humas UNS
