In his speech, the Director of AKN Pacitan, Prof. Dr. Joko Triyono, explains that AKN Pacitan is a vocational education institution designed for post-MA, SMA, and SMK (vocational high school) education, offering one-year Diploma and two-year Diploma Program. The curriculum in AKN Pacitan is established in collaboration with Polytechnics, the Industrial World Business World (DUDI), and market players, with sustainable and industrial professional development orientation. Institutionally, AKN Pacitan is a state educational institution under the supervision of the Directorate General of Higher Education.

Prof. Joko mentioned that his party wanted to learn further about public relations management at UNS because UNS has much more experience and maturity than AKN Pacitan. “Hence, we want to learn more about public relations. For that objective, I brought the AKN Pacitan Public Relations Team to learn from the UNS Public Relations and Media UPT,” explained Prof. Joko.

Prof. Joko and his entourage expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome ceremony provided by UPT Humas and Media UNS team. “Our gratitude went to the UNS Public Relation team for the warm welcome,” explained Prof. Joko.

The Head of UNS Public Relations and Media UPT, Dr. Deddy Whinata Kardiyanto, welcomed the AKN Pacitan team and explained the role and function of public relations in universities. Moreover, the team from UPT Humas and Media UNS also deliver material related to media management, branding, social media management, and how to carry out external promotions for the advancement of higher education.

“The role of public relations in a university is essential. Our task is to carry out public relations services, publications, media documentation, as well as managing information and documentation within the university (UNS),” explained Dr. Deddy.

Dr. Deddy expressed his gratitude for the AKN Pacitan Public Relations Team visit to UNS. “Thank you for visiting UNS. I hope this knowledge sharing can be useful for both parties,” said Dr. Deddy. Humas UNS

In addition to the internship, the Lompatan Kreatif 2021 also includes a learning webinar and workshop with the Business and Industrial World (DUDI) held ten times from 23 July to 9 August 2021. This event involves competent experts to share their knowledge with participants, FSRD UNS students, and HIMKI members.

The webinar series was opened with a profile briefing by HIMKI Team and LK FSRD on Friday (23/7/2021). This briefing was opened directly by the Vice-Dean for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs FRSD UNS, Dr. Deny Tri Ardianto, S.Sn., M.A. The materials and briefing from HIMKI were delivered by Noorjayadi, S.Sn, M.A., as Deputy Head of Innovation and Design HIMKI.

To uns.ac.id, Lulu Purwaningrum, S.Sn., M.T., Ph.D., stated that intern students would participate in the learning webinar and workshop in the working days. “So, in the morning, they join the webinar, then they take intern in their respective company online,” she added.

Design Thinking for Society and Ecology was the first material received by the students. This material is the basis for design practice for the interns that they need to grow because during their intern they are expected to express their character design as an alternative for problem-solving in various issues, especially the issue surrounding human lifestyle and relationship between people that affect the cultural or environmental condition. This approach is in line with the objective of this collaboration to optimize the role of Green Lab Desain FSRD UNS.

Therefore, interns will also learn about cultural and environmental-based design, environmentally responsible design, and how design initiates activities with a positive and sustainable impact on the community. The webinar will also provide a briefing on the importance of social knowledge such as anthropology, sociology, psychology, and ethnographic methodology in the designing process. Participants will get an introduction to Green Lab FSRD UNS and its activities. Humas UNS
