The team members consisted of Hafida Salsabila, Tri Rahmaji, Sukmo Utomo Abdillah Amin, Muzakiya Lailatul Karima, Hasna Fatin Hanifah, Muhammad Dzaky Musyaffa, Muhana Fawwazy Ilyas, Muhammad Dzaki Darmawan, Inas Nuha Mumtazah, Hanifah Fathimatuzzahrah, Gading Nasywaa Aji Azzahra, Shastri Cahyaningtyas, and Hidayat Fatahillah. The team was supervised by Dr. Revi Gama Hatta Novika, SST., M.Kes and Ubaidillah, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Dr. Revi Gama Hatta Novika, SST., M.Kes, stated that the product prototype was funded by MBKM Grant and supported by the National Research and Innovation Center (BRIN) Indonesia in the product development stage. The product was named Effleurage Robot, a pain-relieving innovation for mothers experiencing labor contractions or before labor.

Dr. Revi discussed the idea with Ubaidillah, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., Rufidah Maulina, SST., M.Sc, Siti Nurhidayati, S.S.T., M.Keb, and Nurul Jannatul Wahidah, S.ST., M.Kes, and her students. The idea came from the Covid-19 condition, which prevented the soon-to-be-mother from having her family member accompany her and provided effleurage massages to reduce her muscle pain. “During the Covid-19 condition, (she) needs something to replace those family members’ role,” Dr. Revi explained on Thursday (24/2/2022).

Effleurage Robot is a chair robot that provides effleurage massage with strong, medium, and soft settings on pregnant women’s hips to reduce labor pain. The robot also reduces the work of people accompanying a mother in labor and is equipped with adjustable features that can be used when walking, sitting, and lying down. The study on Effleurage Robot effectiveness was implemented in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Hospital for a pregnant woman in 1^st stage labor. The research showed significantly reduced pain, showing high effectiveness for stage 1 labor.

Hafida Salsabila, the student coordinator, stated that she obtained lots of experiences and learned from her participation in the grant. The innovation was also submitted for Student Creativity Program (PKM), International essay competition, and MBKM Grant before finally winning the current competition in the Tertiary School category with Biotechnology and Health subtheme. She added that the midwifery and medical science students could prepare the idea of such a robot, but they need help from mechanical engineering to create such innovation. “Thus, the assembly process runs well and creates a usable tool,” she added on Thursday (24/2/2022).

The competition was held by the Malaysian Invention & Design Society (MINDS) in 1989 and was participated by students from various countries. ITEX is a platform for researchers to introduce their innovations and finding to the business community. The post Collaboration of Three Programs, Effleurage Robot from UNS Students Won Gold Medal in International Competition appeared first on Universitas Sebelas Maret.

The Team consists of ten members: three volunteers from Badan Koordinasi Pelaksana (Bakorlak) SAR UNS, five volunteers from the Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS, and two volunteers from the Alumni Association (IKA) UNS. The sendoff ceremony was held symbolically by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, in the lobby of dr. Prakosa Rectorate Building.

On this occasion, he stated that the Team would conduct a ten-day operation and would come back to Solo to be replaced by a different Team. To support the evacuation process at the eruption-impacted areas, the Team was equipped with two cars, one ambulance, 3,000 face masks, three jerrycans of disinfectant, seven oxygen cylinders, and medicines.

“The disaster-affected areas are locations that are not conducive. I really hope and truly ask you, please keep your Team member, stay healthy, stay together, and stay safe,” Prof. Kuncoro stated.

To the volunteers, the Vice-Rector mentioned that their departure to the eruption-affected areas had been supported by many people, including local IKA UNS. The Semeru Rescue Team will receive a home base facility in several houses and clinics to be set as their posts that support their mobility during the evacuation process.

“We have alumni there who will provide house and clinic as your home base. Use the posts as best as you can to support our operation, where our cars go today, where our Team goes today. These vehicles are vital,” Prof. Kuncoro stated.

On the same occasion, the Chief of Operation Division Bakorlak SAR UNS Agung Nugeroho reminded the volunteers to stay safe, especially considering that there are areas with no connectivity and the danger of volcanic mudflow continues to threaten certain areas.

“I hope all of you who will be in the field keep maintaining your movement, always report, for example, if any of you about to go somewhere, make sure there are people to oversee. Protect one another,” Agung Nugeroho added.

The Team will depart to Surabaya using the toll road in a three-hour journey, then departing to Leces Subdistrict, Probolinggo District before entering Lumajang District. Humas UNS

Prof. Ari Probandari, Professor in Public Health Science Faculty of Medical Science (FK) UNS and one of the researchers at PINTAR, emphasized that this campaign aims to improve community awareness on the danger of antibiotic resistance. She also quoted the WHO statement that antibiotic resistance is as dangerous as a pandemic. Therefore, community involvement is needed to be an agent of change in using antibiotics wisely.

“This can start with purchasing antibiotics only with doctor prescription,” Prof. Ari stated on Wednesday (1/12/2021).

In line with this statement, Prof. Tri Wibawa, as Professor at the Faculty of Medical Science, Community Health, and Nursing (FKKMK) Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), added that this campaign is a form of willingness to be involved in educating the community. Besides UNS, the campaign that ran from 18 to 24 November 2021 was also supported by UGM, Ministry of Health, Kirby Institute of UNSW Sydney, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, University College London, and George Institute for Global Health UNSW Sydney.

“Around forty participants involved in the campaign run in three locations; around Bank Indonesia area, Taman Indonesia Kaya, and Simpang Lima. One by one, education was held to prioritize community comfort, considering the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” Prof. Ari added.

Antimicrobial Resistance

Antimicrobial resistance occurs as the result of antibiotic use that does not follow the indication. Based on the PINTAR study, there were 69% of antibiotic usage without a doctor’s prescription, which is prohibited by the regulation because antibiotic falls under potent drug classification.

The Chief of PC IAI Chapter Semarang, I Kadek Bagiana M.Sc. Apt., stated that the danger of antimicrobial resistance is the difficulty in treating patients once they get an infection.

“Antibiotics should be used according to the needs or indication because not all illnesses need antibiotics. This is also to correct community comprehension that they need antibiotics for pain. We want to emphasize to the community that they need to be wise in using antibiotics,” I Kadek Bagiana stated.

Pharmaceutical personnel, both pharmacists and pharmaceutical technical personnel, certainly have an important role in controlling antimicrobial resistance in the community. Humas UNS

The short talkshow had SKIPI DONAT: Talk Show in KIPI about Diving Through Vaccine Side Effects Hoax vs. Fact in Social Media as a theme. Under the supervision of Heni Hastuti, dr., MPH, the team targeted to reach 80 Covid-19 vaccination participants in the post-vaccination observation room (KIPI) FK UNS on Wednesday (11/8/2021).

“This talkshow discussed the myths and facts of the Covid-19 vaccine that spread in the community. For example, the myth that Covid -19 vaccine contains a microchip, the myth that Covid -19 vaccine caused Covid -19, the facts that nausea, fever, and muscle ache can be felt after Covid -19 vaccination, and many other myths and facts on Covid -19 vaccine,” the Group B4 Team Leader, Muhammad Rasyid Ridho, explained.

The talkshow was Group B4 community services for the society and Covid-19 FK UNS vaccination participants to correct the hoaxes in the community.

“This program also has pre-test and post-test to assess participants’ comprehension,” Safira Hasna Rosyida, Group B4 member, stated.

SKIPI DONAT Program also has other activities on social media, including quizzes and challenges in the @vaksinasifkuns Instagram account.

“With SKIPI DONAT, we hope that vaccination participants could be educated and will provide correct information for the community so that no community member feel afraid and hesitated to get Covid-19 vaccine,” Rasyid added. Humas UNS
