The seminar was attended by key figures including the Secretary of the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes, Dr. Mukri, S.H., M.H., CGCAE; the Head of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Prosecutor’s Office, Ahelya Abustam, S.H., M.H.; the Head of Surakarta District Prosecutor’s Office, D.B. Susanto, S.H., M.H.; UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si.; the Chair and Secretary of the Academic Senate; the Chair and Secretary of the Council of Professors; Vice Rectors; Deans; and Heads of Institutions within UNS.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Hartono emphasized UNS’s commitment to fostering excellence and competitiveness in human resources, particularly law.

“UNS is committed to continuously supporting the creation of outstanding and competitive human resources, especially in law. We hope that the synergy between academia and law enforcement agencies, such as the Attorney General’s Office, will continue to grow, so that our graduates not only possess strong academic skills but also uphold strong character and integrity in pursuing justice,” Prof. Hartono stated.

The Attorney General of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. ST Burhanuddin, S.H., M.M., M.H., served as the keynote speaker and highlighted the importance of the dominous litis principle in Indonesian law. The principle of dominus litis is a principle in procedural law that gives full authority to a certain party to control the course of a case. In the context of criminal justice, it is generally the prosecutor who plays the role of dominus litis.

“We hope that participants in this seminar will contribute their thoughts through this scientific forum on the urgent need for the dominous litis principle, particularly in realizing a more just legal system,” the Attorney General said.

UNS brought together five legal experts to serve as speakers during the seminar, including Professor of Civil Law at the UNS Faculty of Law (FH), Prof. Dr. Adi Sulistiyono, S.H., M.H.; Deputy Attorney General for Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Asep Nana Mulyana, S.H., M.Hum.; Professor of Criminal Law from Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, S.H., M.A.; Criminal Law Lecturer at Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Dr. Fachrizal Afandi, S.Psi., S.H., M.H.; and Professor of Law from Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Prof. Dr. Pujiyono, S.H., M.Hum.

The seminar also featured an award presentation, with UNS bestowing the Adikarya Anugraha Dharma Krida Justisia award to the Attorney General of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. H. ST Burhanuddin, S.H., M.M., M.H., presented on behalf of UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono by the Head of the Central Java Prosecutor’s Office, Ponco Hartanto, S.H., M.H.
