A total of 20 students with disabilities from various faculties and study programs at UNS have successfully passed the selection process and received the scholarships. The recipients include students from Special Education, Visual Communication Design, and Informatics. The scholarship aims to offer greater access to higher education for students with disabilities by removing financial barriers.

Prof. Dr. Munawir Yusuf, M.Psi., Head of the PSD LPPM UNS, expressed his gratitude for PT Bayan Resources’ support in creating a more inclusive learning environment. The scholarship program follows a cooperation agreement signed between UNS and PT Bayan Resources in June 2024. Besides providing financial aid, the program also supports the academic and non-academic development of the scholarship recipients.

“This collaboration is an important step in ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to higher education, helping them achieve their full potential in both academic and professional fields,” Prof. Munawir said to uns.ac.id onMonday (21/10/2024).

One scholarship recipient, Wigati Prasetya Cahyaningtyas, a deaf student from the Craft Arts Program in the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD), expressed her gratitude and determination to excel. With the scholarship, Wigati and other students are expected to continue making positive contributions academically and beyond. PT Bayan Resources and UNS hope this program will serve as a model of collaboration supporting inclusivity in education and opening more opportunities for future generations.

“This scholarship allows me to focus on my studies and pursue my dreams without worrying about tuition fees,” Wigati said.

“Bayan Peduli” Scholarship Recipients 2024

The list of 2024 scholarship recipients includes students with various disabilities, such as hearing, visual, and physical impairments. The scholarships were awarded to students from multiple UNS faculties, including the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Faculty of Sports (FKOR), the Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science (Fatisda), the Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB), the Faculty of Arts and Design (FSRD), and the Vocational School (SV). Recipients were selected through a rigorous process, including interviews conducted by the PSD LPPM UNS team.

Hope for Future

The “Bayan Peduli” program is expected to serve as a bridge for more students with disabilities to pursue higher education. UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., in a separate statement, praised PT Bayan Resources for its commitment to advancing inclusive education. As the program continues, UNS and PT Bayan Resources are working together to foster a more inclusive and equitable learning environment. The scholarship program is also seen as a way to strengthen the connection between industry and education, promoting a more aware and responsive society to the needs of people with disabilities.

“This collaboration aligns with our vision of making UNS a disability-friendly and inclusive campus. We hope this program will continue to grow and have a positive impact on our students,” Prof. Hartono said.
