One of the speakers is Rosma Handayani. She is the Managing Director of Human Capital & General Affairs at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI, Indonesian Railway Company). She emphasized the vital role of collaboration between government, academia, the community, and industry, known as the Quadruple Helix. She highlighted that this approach fosters an innovative and competitive transportation ecosystem in a globalized world.

“Integrating education, industry, government, and the community prepares a workforce for future transportation challenges. This collaboration is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring sustainable mobility for the public,” Rosma stated.

Aligning Collaboration with Sustainable Development Goals

The discussion also linked cross-sector collaboration to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: ‘Partnerships for the Goals.’ KAI underscored that stronger ties with educational institutions accelerate sustainability efforts.

“Through human resource development, international training, and technological innovation, we can advance sustainability goals more efficiently. Achieving this requires multi-sector collaboration,” Rosma explained.

PT KAI also outlined its strategic vision for 2025-2029, focusing on sustainable transportation and societal well-being.

“Transformation relies on collaboration. By working together, we can modernize Indonesia’s railway system and enhance its sustainability,” Rosma concluded.

This event reinforced the importance of education-industry partnerships as investments in the future. These collaborations align with market demands and sustainable development objectives.
