This event was a collaboration between FK UNS and the Indonesian HIV Research Network (JPHIV-Ina), supported by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and UNAIDS Indonesia. During the event, more than 300 participants attended in person at FK UNS, while 2500 others joined remotely via the interactive virtual platform. The hybrid format allowed broader participation without geographical barriers.

The Main Plenary Session was divided into three parts, covering in-depth topics related to global issues, such as expanding research and treatment access for HIV diagnosis and care in communities, expanding diagnosis and treatment access for HIV in specific populations, and recommendations for moving forward together.

According to the Event’s Organizing Committee Chair, Vitri Widyaningsih, dr. M.S., Ph.D., there were more than 100 scientific papers presented during the event.

“Researchers involved in these scientific presentations include academics and practitioners from various fields, such as clinical practice, public health, digital innovation, human resource development, economic policy, and social development,” she explained during the event held on December 6, 2024.

These papers offered new insights and creative solutions, fostering cross-disciplinary discussions that were constructive and diverse.

In addition to the formal discussions, participants had the opportunity to engage through satellite sessions available throughout the event. These interactive satellite sessions featured the Indonesian Health Service Associations (ADINKES), the Indonesian Association of Public Health Experts (IAKMI), the Indonesian Social Change Organization (OPSI), and UN Women Indonesia.

The organizing committee expressed gratitude to its partners, including FK UNS, the Disease Control Research Group, UNS Hospital, the Prabha Widya Karya Foundation (Pradika), and stakeholders such as the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, UNAIDS, the Indonesian Positive Network (JIP), ADINKES, UN Women, IAKMI, and Universitas Thamrin for their full support.

It is hoped that the National Meeting will contribute evidence-based recommendations for HIV/AIDS prevention and management in Indonesia.

Aligned with the SDGs, the meeting aims to achieve SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
