The International Creative Media Challenge itself is a competition organized by the Vocational School, Universitas Sebelas Maret (SV UNS). Through two competition categories, which are animation and creative video, the competition was attended by student participants from all over the world. “To join the competition, participants must create an animation work in the form of 3D, CGI, 2D, or Stop Motion. The work was then uploaded and broadcasted through YouTube and other social media channels. Submitted works are judged purely by the jury without considering the number of likes or post interactions. The winner announcement was conducted through the organizer’s Instagram account,” explained Hana when interviewed by uns.ac.id on Monday (19/9/2022).

Furthermore, Hana explained that their work was inspired by Indonesia’s diverse natural and cultural landscape, as well as the Indonesian philosophy of life, which is focused on the harmony and wealth of Indonesia’s nature. “In this work, we try to present Indonesia’s natural beauty in the form of realistic 3D animation, thus, the audience can feel and be impressed by Indonesia’s diversity,” she explained.

After winning 1st place, Hana admitted that, at first, there were no expectations about winning the competition, especially since this competition was not in line with their area of expertise. Hana also hopes that in the future, she can keep growing better in a more positive direction and never give up easily. 

“Here, we learn that we can achieve anything, but we must keep in mind that learning is the foundation for everything, and, hopefully, all of us can keep on developing toward a more positive direction and not just give up. Stay enthusiastic in facing future problems. Especially for this team, hopefully, we may win any other events,” she concluded. Humas UNS

This MTQ competition was held in Cilacap Regency Pendopo. Participants in this competition were representatives of sub-districts in the Cilacap Regency. There are eight competition categories, namely children’s tilawah (t/n: recitation of the Qur’an), teenage tilawah, adult tilawah, 1 juz tahfidz (t/n: person who memorize the Qur’an) and tilawah, 5 juz tahfidz and tilawah, 10 juz tahfidz, 20 juz tahfidz, and 30 juz tahfidz.

Preparing for the competition, Detria was supervised by H. Zaenal Arifin, S.Sos., as her Qur’an recitation teacher at home. Detria admitted that, when participating in the event, she wanted to gain more experience and knowledge. “This event continues all the way to the provincial level, even nationally. I want to gain more experience and knowledge, meet new friends, and get together with people from Cilacap, which is the largest district in Central Java. So, expanding my network and reuniting with many friends, because I met many friends who used to met-up at the provincial level,” explained Detria.

Detria admitted that, in achieving this achievement, she only had two days of preparation training. At the end of the interview, Detria expressed her hope to contribute to Cilacap Regency’s achievement at the provincial level.

“Hopefully, this can promote Cilacap honor at the provincial level, obtaining the expected results, effortless event participation, health, and blessings. Also, I wish to be more enthusiastic and motivated to be more diligent, and more Istiqomah (to act rightly, allowing no deviation),” she said. Humas UNS

The ceremony was participated by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs UNS, Prof. Ahmad Yunus, who joined that ceremony online. The ceremony was also attended by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo; Chairman of UP KKN UNS, Prof. Sudibya; Kebumen Regent, Arif Sugiyanto, S.H., and Village Chiefs of respective villages, who participated in the offline ceremony.

In his report, Prof. Yunus stated that there are around 1,400 students who participated in this KKN. Prof. Yunus also hoped that the programs could assist the local people in developing their villages and the importance of accelerating local programs for resources development. “Local potential needs to be explored; for example, in Kemuning, there is a potential for hydroelectric energy, which can be developed,” Prof. Yunus added.

Kebumen Regent Arif Sugiyanto shared his appreciation for UNS sending their students to the district. He also emphasized the importance of the bottom-up approach in the national development implemented by UNS through the KKN program. “Hopefully, the students brought new spirits to the village, and (the program) can be continuous,” he added.

On the same occasion, Prof. Jamal also shared his appreciation for all KKN teams that have completed their programs. “The community service program conducted by UNS students for 45 days has completed and run smoothly. I am delighted to receive the news that the local development program prepared by the students are succeeded in developing independence in KKN UNS locations,” Prof. Jamal stated.

He added that Kebumen was selected as the KKN location because of its rich potential, tourism, culinary, creative industry, and handicrafts. Since 1991, UNS has actively developed the region through its Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) on Kebumen Campus.

“My highest gratitude to the local governments in UNS KKN Thematic locations. Hopefully, the local community could continue our students’ program,” he concluded. Humas UNS

Abdul Azis or Azis shared to the uns.ac.id team that the competition applied a discovery method that required students to apply their comprehension.

“The video combines teaching video and visual component to increase the amiability of the lessons. The process was interesting and exciting. At first (I) was not really interesting, but with the PLP experiences in the elementary school and encouragement to participate, at last, I participated in the competition,” Aziz stated on Wednesday (5/1/2022).

The final semester student stated that he tried to prepare his work with maximum effort and was delighted with the extension of the submission deadline because he made a mistake during video taking process.

“Sometimes what was said is not match with the text. But alhamdulillah, I was very grateful because this is the first microteaching competition that I participated in, and I won 3rd Place,” he added.

Before concluding the interview, Aziz hoped that more students would be willing to hone and improve their teaching skills and accomplish achievements for their alma mater. Humas UNS

As announced through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application and live stream on the PGSD FKIP UNS YouTube account on Tuesday (21/12/2021), the competition raises the theme of “TPACK Implementation in Learning for Digital Era Acceleration in Achieving Civilized Education.” Wulandari and her Team submitted the Space-Net (smart learning serial on the planet) application in the competition, an interactive learning media that could be applied in the Natural Science learning process. The app was prepared for the 6th grade of elementary school regarding the material on planets, its definition, characteristics, and classification.

“Space-Net is an interactive learning media that integrated image, audio, video, and text supported by operation buttons that could be operated by students and teachers in controlling the use of this media. This media could be applied in the natural science education at the 6th grade semester two, on the definition of planets, names of planets in the solar system, the characteristics of planets in the solar system, and types of planetary classification in the solar system,” Wulandari explained on Sunday (2/1/2022).

She added that the media that they developed is also equipped with game features as a means of reflection and quiz for evaluation purposes. “To examine students’ comprehension of the planetary materials they learned,” Wulandari added.

In the future, the Team will develop this learning media and register it for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR/HaKI). Humas UNS
